Antique jewelry has always been my favorite. Over this past year, I have fallen madly in love with antique diamonds. My discovery of antique, Georgian diamond rings is responsible for this newfound obsession. Most of the Georgian rings have irregular, rose cut diamonds set in silver settings, with gold bands. It’s their lack of perfection, of that symmetry that we are so accustomed to in fine jewelry, that is so charming.
These rings usually date to the 1820s or 1830s. Each of these Georgian pieces was probably on the finger of a lady at the time the Bronte sisters were writing their novels. They are OLD!
Today I opened up my favorites list on Etsy and I was completely taken with the images I had saved. Georgian and Victorian Era antique rings mixed in with images of dried flowers. I was reminded of English novels, the Bronte sisters, long evening walks, and the romance of the countryside.
