This California winter has, so far, been strange. These past three years have seen a dry winter, a very wet and snowy winter, and now, again, a dry winter. Only this time around, we see our nature and neighborhoods on fire, burning with the help of terrible winds.
As California burns and the gusts of wind blow at our windows, I have been staring longingly at Instagram feeds from elsewhere, where snow is falling. I am usually longing for sunshine by Midwinter. Longing for a way to bring the sunshine home with me.
There are a few talented artists making stained glass suncatchers that do just that. Each creation reflects colorful rays of sunshine.
So, I pretend I am in a faraway land, where the falling leaves have been replaced by falling snow, and it is these suncatchers that brighten the day.
